Franklin, NC – June 21 & 22, 2020

For Father’s Day and Janice’s birthday we decided to take a short trip in the RV to Franklin, NC in the Smoky Mountains to see what the area looks like.

Found a nice RV park to stay in; The Great Outdoors RV Resort.

A nice campground. Quiet and lots of shade. We have a good spot.

Had a surprise visit from Vikki who Barry went to high school with. Turns out that she and her husband David have a cabin close by. It was fun catching up.

Oh yeah, the campground has an off the leash pet area which Casey loved.

There was a thunderstorm and a hard rain last night. Loved it.

Lake Lanier, Georgia – June 17 -19, 2020

Having the RV up at the cabin for the summer allows us to make short trips from Blairsville to the surrounding mountains, lakes and sights throughout north Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas.

Our first such trip is south to Lake Lanier. We stayed at Shoal Creek Campground where we landed a fantastic lake front spot.

Packed my inflatable SUP board so I could get some water time on Lake Lanier. Was able to squeeze in three sessions.
